If you've added an Item Group to your quote but the specific product you need — such as a particular color or variant — isn't listed in the dropdown, here's what's happening and what to do.
Why an option might be missing
Item Groups are set up by your supply house and contain a curated set of products. A specific option may not appear for a few reasons:
The product hasn't been added to the group yet — Your supply house may not have included that variant when creating the group.
The product is discontinued or out of stock — The variant may have been removed from the group because it's no longer available from the manufacturer.
The product exists under a different group — Some product lines may be split across multiple groups (e.g., by size or category). The variant you need may be in a different group.
What to do
Search for the item directly — Instead of using the group, try searching for the specific product by name or SKU in the quote builder. If the product exists in the price book but isn't in the group, it may still appear as an individual search result.
Contact your supply house — Let them know which product or variant is missing from the group. They can add it to the Item Group so it appears in the dropdown for future quotes.
Adding the item manually in the meantime
If you need the product on your quote now and it's available in the price book as an individual item, you can add it directly:
Remove the Item Group placeholder from your quote line (or leave it and add a new line).
Search for the specific product by name or SKU.
Add it to your quote as a standalone line item.
This ensures your quote is accurate while your supply house updates the group.
