If you noticed that your template list looks different, here's why: we've simplified your quote templates using Item Grouping.
What Changed
Previously, you had a separate template for each color of a product. For example, if you worked with GAF Timberline HDZ, you might have seen:
GAF Timberline HDZ - Charcoal
GAF Timberline HDZ - Weathered Wood
GAF Timberline HDZ - Barkwood
GAF Timberline HDZ - Shakewood
Now, there is one template - GAF Timberline HDZ - and you choose the color directly on the quote line after adding it.
Why This Change Was Made
Less clutter — Instead of scrolling through dozens of near-identical templates, you see one clean entry per product line.
Faster quoting — Add the template, then pick your color from a dropdown with product images. No more hunting for the right color-specific template.
Fewer mistakes — You choose the color from a visual list on the quote itself, so you can confirm you have the right one before submitting.
Where Did My Old Templates Go?
Your old color-specific templates have been archived, not deleted. You can still see them by switching to the Archived view in your template list. They are no longer available to use on new quotes, but any existing quotes that used them are unchanged.
How to Use the New Templates
Start a new quote and select a template as you normally would.
You will see a single template per product line (e.g., GAF Timberline HDZ) instead of one per color.
After the template loads, each line item that belongs to a group will show a Select dropdown in the Item Group column.
Open the dropdown and choose the specific color or variant you need.
Continue building your quote as usual.
What If I Need a Color That Isn't in the Dropdown?
If the color or variant you need doesn't appear in the dropdown, it may not have been added to the group yet. Contact your branch or account manager to have it included.
