Add a Grouped Item to Your Quote

Find a product once, then pick your color on the quote line

Some products in the catalog are grouped, which means every color and size sits under one product name. You search for the product, add it, and choose the color afterward.

  1. Start a new quote and continue to Quote Details

  2. In the search bar, search by category, manufacturer, or SKU

    1. Grouped products appear with a product photo and an item count, such as Items: 107. Individual items show a SKU and size instead

  1. Click Add + on the product you want

    1. The product is added to your quote with the Item Group column showing Select

  1. In the Item Group column, open the dropdown and choose the color or size you need

  1. The line fills in with the item description, SKU, and unit of measure

  2. Enter your Qty and carry on adding items

"You are missing an item group selection"

If you see this message when you click Next, one of your lines is still set to Select. The quote can't move forward until every grouped product has a specific item chosen.

Scroll to the line highlighted in red, open its Item Group dropdown, and pick the color or size you need.

"No longer available"

If a line on your quote turns red and reads no longer available, your distributor has retired that product group since you added it. Remove the line to continue, then search for a current product to replace it.

Why your list of colors may differ from a colleague's

The dropdown shows the items available for your branch access and the branch selected on the quote — not every color the manufacturer makes. If a color you expect isn't listed, check the branch on your quote first, then contact your branch if it still doesn't appear.

Searching by color

You don't have to know the product line to find it. Search a color name and any group containing that color appears at the top of your results, above the individual items.

Search Shafter Hickory, add GAF Timberline HDZ from the top of the list, then choose Shafter Hickory from the dropdown once the group has been added.
